Things To Do To Escape the Cold in Hudson Yards NYC

Winter is almost here and many are preparing both physically and mentally to hibernate for the cold and dark months ahead. Regardless of how terrible the winter weather can be in NYC, it’s never stopped New Yorkers from looking for fun things to do. The new and hip neighborhood of Hudson Yards is a visual spectacle but to dodge the weather you’ll need to find things to do inside. Here are some of Hudson Yards’ coziest places to spend the late fall and winter.

Mercado Little Spain

This is a buzzing indoor area inspired by historic markets throughout Spain. You’ll find farm stands, food stalls, cafes, bars, butcher shops, and grocery stores, all under one roof. This market is a highlight of the neighborhood as mercados often are in Spanish towns. Most importantly it’s heated through the winter to give you a cozy place to spend an afternoon or pop in for dinner.

The Shops

The Shops at Hudson Yards is a posh 1 million square feet Shopping Mall at Hudson Yards. You can find high-end shops like Cartier, Forty-Five Ten, Louis Vuitton, Coach and Dior. They also have Sephora, Lululemon and H&M. Retail therapy is a pastime for New Yorkers and in the winter it’s the best way to avoid the cold. Check out all shops at the Hudson Yards Mall.

Hot Yoga Chelsea

Known for its friendly community and the hottest yoga studio in New York City, Hot Yoga Chelsea offers yogis a way to work out and sweat, even when it’s 30 degrees outside. Hot Yoga Chelsea is a neighborhood hot spot during the cold months. The hot yoga studio offers traditional Bikram Yoga, Hot Vinyasa and Hot HIIT classes and is the closest hot yoga studio to Hudson Yards area. Pop in the studio on the edge of Hudson Yards, on 27th Street and 7th Ave and ask about our new student offers and package sales.

The Shed

This arts center boasts cutting-edge architecture, featuring an enormous shell that’s covered in translucent panels that are pulled over the structure to turn the spacious courtyard into an enclosed space in the Winter. It’s a sight to be seen and experienced even in the winter when the temperature inside is controlled. To fill the huge space, the Shed adds new works from a diverse range of local and international artistic talent in music, art and film.
